Công thức của thì Tương lai tiếp diễn gồm có thể khẳng định, thể phủ định và thể nghi vấn.

2.1. Thể khẳng định

Cấu trúc

S + will + be + V-ing

Trong đó

Ví dụ

  • I will be having breakfast at 7 a.m tomorrow. (Tôi sẽ đang ăn sáng vào 7 giờ sáng mai.)
  • She will be doing her homework when her grandparents come tonight. (Cô ấy sẽ đang làm bài về nhà khi ông bà cô ấy tới tối nay.)

2.2. Thể phủ định

Cấu trúc

S + will not + be + V-ing

Lưu ý: will not = won’t

Ví dụ

  • Jack won’t be staying at home at this time tomorrow. (Jack sẽ đang không ở nhà vào giờ này ngày mai
  • We won’t be sleeping when you come tomorrow morning. (Chúng tôi sẽ đang không ngủ khi cậu tới vào sáng mai.)

2.3 Thể nghi vấn

3. Cách sử dụng thì Tương lai tiếp diễn trong tiếng Anh

Diễn tả một hành động hay sự việc đang diễn ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong tương lai.

Ví dụ 1: I will be eating dinner at 8 p.m tomorrow.

(Tôi sẽ đang ăn tối vào lúc 8 giờ tối mai.)

Có thể thấy 8 giờ tối mai là thời gian xác định và việc ăn tối sẽ đang được diễn ra vào thời điểm này. Vì vậy ta dùng thì tương lai tiếp diễn.

Vi dụ 2: Henry will be walking in the park this time tomorrow.

(Henry sẽ đang đi bộ trong công viên vào giờ này ngày mai.)

Ý của câu muốn nói việc Henry đi bộ trong công viên sẽ đang diễn ra trong tương lai (ngày mai) tại một thời điểm xác định (giờ này). Thời điểm xác định “giờ này” đều được hiểu là mấy giờ bởi người nghe và người nói.

Diễn tả một hành động, một sự việc đang xảy ra thì một hành động, sự việc khác xen vào trong tương lai

Ví dụ 1: I will be waiting for you when the party ends.

(Tôi sẽ chờ anh khi buổi tiệc kết thúc.)

Sự việc “ tôi chờ anh” đang diễn ra thì sự việc “buổi tiệc kết thúc” xen ngang vào. Sự việc “tôi chờ anh” đã đang diễn ra được một khoảng thời gian rồi sự việc “buổi tiệc kết thúc” mới xảy ra. Cả hai sự việc đều xảy ra trong tương lai.

Ví dụ 2: When her friends come tomorrow, Hannah will be watching TV.

(Khi các bạn của cô ấy tới ngày mai, Hannah sẽ đang xem TV.)

Ý của câu muốn nói sự việc “Hannah xem TV” là sự việc đang trong quá trình tiếp diễn thì sự việc “các bạn của cô ấy tới” xen ngang vào. Cả hai sự việc đều diễn ra trong tương lai.

LƯU Ý: Hành động, sự việc xen vào được chia ở thì hiện tại đơn.

Diễn tả hành động sẽ diễn ra và kéo dài liên tục suốt một khoảng thời gian ở tương lai

Ví dụ 1: Next week is Christmas, I will be staying with my family for the next 5 days

(Tuần tới là Giáng sinh, tôi sẽ ở với gia đình trong 5 ngày tới.)

Việc “ở với gia đình” sẽ kéo dài liên tục trong tương lai (5 ngày tới) 

Ví dụ 2: John will be preparing for the exam for 2 months after the holiday.

(John sẽ chuẩn bị cho bài kiểm tra trong 2 tháng sau kỳ nghỉ.)

Việc “chuẩn bị cho bài kiểm tra” sẽ xảy ra và kéo dài liên tục trong khoảng thời gian 2 tháng trong tương lai (sau kỳ nghỉ).

Diễn tả hành động sẽ xảy ta như một phần trong kế hoạch hoặc một phần trong thời gian biểu

Ví dụ: Next Monday, you will be working in your new job.

Thứ hai tới bạn sẽ đang ở chỗ làm mới của mình.

Dùng để yêu cầu/hỏi một cách lịch sự về một thông tin nào đó ở tương lai

Ví dụ: The match will be starting at 8 p.m tomorrow.

(Trận đấu sẽ bắt đầu vào 8 giờ tối mai.)

Việc “trận đấu bắt đầu vào 8 giờ tối mai” đã được dự định, lên kế hoạch sẵn từ trước.

Kết hợp với “still” để chỉ những hành động đã xảy ra hiện tại và được cho là sẽ tiếp tục diễn ra trong tương lai

Ví dụ: Tomorrow he will still be suffering from his cold. 

Ngày mai anh ấy vẫn sẽ bị cơn cảm lạnh hành hạ.

Hiện tại anh ấy vẫn đang cảm lạnh nên có thể dự đoán ngày mai anh ấy vẫn còn bị ốm

Diễn tả những hành động song song với nhau nhằm mô tả một không khí, khung cảnh tại một thời điểm cụ thể trong tương lai

Ví dụ: When I arrive at the party, everybody is going to be celebrating. Some will be dancing. Others are going to be talking.

Khi tôi đến bữa tiệc, mọi người sẽ đang ăn mừng. Một số người sẽ đang nhảy múa. Một số khác sẽ đang trò chuyện với nhau.

4. Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì Tương lai tiếp diễn trong tiếng Anh

4.1. Dấu hiệu nhận biết 1

Chúng ta sẽ sử dụng thì Tương lai tiếp diễn khi có sự xuất hiện của các cụm từ sau

  • At this/ that + time/ moment + khoảng thời gian trong tương lai (at this moment next year,…)
  • At + thời điểm xác định trong tương lai (at 5p.m tomorrow)
  • …when + mệnh đề chia thì hiện tại đơn (when you come,…)

Ví dụ

  • At this time tomorrow I will be going shopping in Singapore.

(Vào thời điểm này ngày mai, tôi sẽ đang đi mua sắm ở Singapore.)

  • At 10 a.m tomorrow my mother will be cooking lunch.

(Vào 10h sáng ngày mai mẹ tôi sẽ đang nấu bữa trưa.)

4.2. Dấu hiệu nhận biết 2

Ngoài ra khi trong câu có sử dụng các động từ chính như “expect” hay “guess” thì câu cũng thường được chia ở thì tương lai tiếp diễn.

Ví dụ

  • At 6 a.m tomorrow, I will be climbing mountains.

(Vào 6 giờ sáng mai, tôi sẽ đang leo núi.)

  • When she returns, he will be sleeping in his room.

(Khi cô ấy quay về, anh ấy sẽ đang ngủ trong phòng.)

5. Những lưu ý khi sử dụng thì Tương lai tiếp diễn

5.1. Lưu ý về cấu trúc câu

Những mệnh đề bắt đầu với when, while, before, after, by the time, as soon as, if, unless… thì không dùng thì tương lai tiếp diễn mà dùng hiện tại tiếp diễn. 

Ví dụ

  • While I will be finishing my homework, she is going to make dinner. (không đúng)
  • While I am finishing my homework, she is going to make dinner.

5.2. Lưu ý về động từ

Những từ sau không dùng ở dạng tiếp diễn nói chung và thì tương lai tiếp diễn nói riêng

  • State: be, cost, fit, mean, suit
  • Possession: belong, have
  • Senses: feel, hear, see, smell, taste, touch
  • Feelings: hate, hope, like, love, prefer, regret, want, wish
  • Brainwork: belief, know, think (nghĩ về), understand

Ví dụ

  • Jane will be being at my house when you arrive. (không đúng)
  • Jane will be at my house when you arrive.

5.3. Dạng bị động của thì tương lai tiếp diễn

  • At 8:00 PM tonight, John will be washing the dishes. (chủ động)
  • At 8:00 PM tonight, the dishes will be being washed by John. (bị động)

6. Sự khác nhau giữa Will – be going to

Will và be going to đều mang nghĩa là “sẽ”, đều hàm ý chỉ một sự việc, một hành động, một sự kiện sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai. Tuy nhiên

  • Will lại được dùng cho thì tương lai đơn
  • Be going to lại được sử dụng cho tương lai gần (tương lai dự định)

Cách sử dụng ngữ pháp của Will

Dùng will khi diễn tả một hành động mà người nói sẵn sàng thực hiện và có dự định thực hiện nó. Hoặc là hành động mà người nói vừa mới quyết định.

Ví dụ

Alex will do the presentation because John have done the contents.

(Alex sẽ làm phần thuyết trình vì John đã làm phần nội dung rồi.)

Trong câu ví dụ này, will được sử dụng khi mà người nói vừa mới quyết định Alex sẽ làm phần thuyết trình.

Khi will được sử dụng, nó giúp người nghe hiểu rằng đó là một ý tưởng vừa mới xuất hiện. Và trước khi biết thông tin thì vẫn chưa có quyết định này.

Cách sử dụng ngữ pháp của Be going to

Mặt khác, going to diễn tả hành động mà người nói đã có dự định từ trước. Vì vậy hocsinhgioi khuyên là nên đặt câu của bạn vào hoàn cảnh cụ thể để thấy sự khác biệt.

Ví dụ

Since John have already done the contents, I am going to do the presentation.

(Bởi vì John đã hoàn thành phần nội dung rồi nên tôi sẽ làm phần thuyết trình.)

Ở ví dụ này, người nói là “tôi” đã sử dụng be going to bởi người nói đã có ý định làm phần thuyết trình trước khi thông báo với mọi người rồi.
