1. Cause and effect essay là gì?

Cause and effect essay là một bài tiểu luận phân tích các nguyên nhân và ảnh hưởng của hiện tượng, vấn đề nào đó. Các chương trình học thường sử dụng dạng tiểu luận này để kiểm tra khả năng tư duy logic cũng như cách nhìn nhận vấn đề của các học viên.

Đối với một số bài tiểu luận ngắn, người ta chỉ yêu cầu bạn bàn luận về độc “cause” – nguyên nhân, hoặc chỉ “ effect” – kết quả.

2. Cấu trúc bài cause and effect essay

Thông thường, có hai cách viết cause and effect essay, đó là cấu trúc “block” (khối) và “chain” (chuỗi). 

Nếu sử dụng cấu trúc “block”, những đoạn văn đầu bạn sẽ liệt kê tất cả những nguyên nhân dẫn đến sự việc, hiện tượng đó. Ở những đoạn văn sau, bạn sẽ chỉ ra tác động, ảnh hưởng mà vấn đề đó gây nên.

Nếu sử dụng cấu trúc “chain”, mỗi đoạn văn sẽ là một ý riêng thể hiện một nguyên nhân gây nên sự việc, hiện tượng và hiệu ứng chỉ từ nguyên nhân ấy.

3. Cách viết cause and effect essay

Nếu bạn chưa biết nên bắt đầu bài tiểu luận essay từ đâu, phải làm như thế nào để viết được bài luận thì hãy tham khảo các bước dưới đây để nắm được cách viết cause and effect essay nhé!

3.1. Tìm hiểu chủ đề essay

Để tránh việc nộp bài essay bị trễ hạn, hãy ghi chú lại cẩn thận những yêu cầu do giảng viên hay giáo viên hướng dẫn của bạn đưa ra: ngày nộp bài tiểu luận, yêu cầu định dạng, số từ toàn bài,…

Viết ra giấy bất kỳ ý tưởng nào mà bạn nghĩ ra được, nếu bạn không viết ra, những ý tưởng đó rất có thể sẽ bị bạn lãng quên ngay sau đó. Tìm kiếm các thông tin từ sách, báo, mạng xã hội,… để hiểu rõ chủ đề và cố gắng mở rộng chúng từ nhiều khía cạnh khác nhau. 

Nhớ ghi chú cẩn thận trong khi nghiên cứu để sau này có thể trích dẫn chính xác và tránh đạo văn.

3.3. Nhờ sự trợ giúp của giảng viên

Ở bất kỳ giai đoạn nào trong quá trình viết tiểu luận, nếu có thắc mắc bạn nên chủ động liên lạc, gửi email cho giảng viên của mình hoặc hẹn gặp họ sau giờ học/ làm. Hãy liệt kê trước các câu hỏi, vấn đề của bạn để tiết kiệm thời gian cũng như không bị bỏ quên chi tiết nào.

Bạn cũng có thể nói chuyện với những sinh viên đã làm việc với giáo viên này trước đây để xem liệu họ có thể làm rõ các vấn đề của bài essay cho bạn hay không.

3.4. Xác định luận điểm

Sau khi đã có đầy đủ các nguồn thông tin cần thiết cho bài essay, bạn cần đưa ra luận điểm để xác định hướng đi cho bài cause and effect essay. Nó sẽ là điều bạn phải chứng minh trong suốt bài essay của mình.

Ngay sau khi thu thập đủ những dữ liệu cần thiết và đã quyết định chủ đề, bạn cần lên một dàn ý chi tiết. Điểm mấu chốt của một bài essay thành công là chọn được cấu trúc phù hợp để thể hiện. Dàn ý hoàn hảo sẽ giúp bạn viết bài essay một cách dễ dàng và tiết kiệm thời gian.

Sử dụng câu đầy đủ hoặc những cụm từ ngắn gọn để mô tả tất cả các ý mà bạn muốn trình bày trong bài tiểu luận. Hãy chia nó thành ba phần chính để phác thảo những ý chính của bài.

3.6. Cách viết cause and effect essay

Dựa vào dàn ý chi tiết, bạn nên bắt tay vào việc viết bài essay càng sớm càng tốt.

Introduction (Mở đầu)

Mục đích của phần này là giới thiệu cho người đọc chủ đề và ý tưởng về những gì mà bạn sẽ viết và cung cấp thông tin cơ bản về những nguyên nhân, ảnh hưởng của vấn đề. Phần mở đầu nên bao gồm:

• Câu giới thiệu chủ đề: Bạn nên sử dụng một câu trích dẫn, một câu hỏi tu từ, một giai thoại hay một sự thật thú vị nhằm thu hút sự chú ý của người đọc ngay từ đầu bài essay.
• Cung cấp thông tin cơ bản: Nếu chủ đề phức tạp, bạn nên thêm một số thông tin cơ bản để miêu tả rõ ràng về vấn đề sắp được thảo luận trong phần thân bài và liên kết nó với câu luận điểm bạn sắp trình bày.
• Câu luận điểm: Thiếu câu này đồng nghĩa với việc bài essay của bạn sẽ bị thiếu trọng tâm. Hãy ghi lại câu luận điểm mà bạn đã xác định ở bước trên.

Body (Thân bài)

Lựa chọn một trong hai cấu trúc về cách viết cause and effect essay phía trên. Bạn có thể sắp xếp thông tin trong phần nội dung chính theo cách khác nhau, tùy thuộc vào mục tiêu của bạn.

Conclusion (Kết luận)

Làm thế nào để kết thúc một bài cause and effect essay? 

• Nêu lại câu luận điểm. Bạn nên chứng minh rằng các đoạn thân bài được kết nối chặt chẽ với luận điểm từ phần mở đầu.
• Viết một câu kết luận. Giống như việc thu hút sự chú ý ở phần đầu, phần kết của bạn cũng phải sáng sủa và hấp dẫn. Trong một vài từ, hãy mô tả hiệu quả phần nghiên cứu của bạn và tầm quan trọng của các lập luận phía trên.

To sum up, it is evident that there are several causes of obesity amongst children, and a variety of negative effects. Society must ensure steps are taken to prevent this problem from deteriorating further.

There are several actions that governments could take to solve the problems described above. Firstly, a simple solution would be to increase the retirement age for working adults, perhaps from 65 to 70. Nowadays, people of this age tend to be healthy enough to continue a productive working life. A second measure would be for governments to encourage immigration in order to increase the number of working adults who pay taxes. Finally, money from national budgets will need to be taken from other areas and spent on vital healthcare, accommodation and transport facilities for the rising numbers of older citizens.

In conclusion, various measures can be taken to tackle the problems that are certain to arise as the populations of countries grow older.

All over the world it has become more often to raise the children in the families with only one parent. There seems to be two main causes involved, and a variety of damaging effects on people and on their future generation, which we will discuss here.

Probably the main factor of bringing up the children in this type of family is that the current generation does not appreciate family values. This means that people are not struggling to save such treasure as a family. After few conflicts, they just get a divorce, despite born child that needs the contribution of both parents. If parents spend more time with patience they will bring up their child as a well-mannered person with normal perception of ground rules.

The other major cause is accidental pregnancy. This happens because people do not consider about aftereffects of hanging out in nightclubs. Pregnant women therefore often bring up her child alone and she is forced to be a breadwinner for the family. So most of the time she cannot be immersed into education of the child and sometimes cannot be in touch with her own child. That may have big problems on the upbringing of the child.

There are, of course, negative effects of raise in single-parent families on future generation. The greatest of these is that the lack of educational processes from one of the parents might lead to having problems with pattern of behavior which is forming during the childhood. Another possible effect that loss of one parent can be the cause of disruption in codes of conduct. It can be the problem, leading to disrespectful behavior to other people and also can trigger outbreaks of violence in future generation .

Overall, we can see that divorces and accidental pregnancy are the main origins of the single-parent families and that the effects because of this inconsiderable changes lead to lack of the integral part of upbringing and can entail serious problems for next generation.

The other major cause is that the overwhelming majority do not trust doctors, thinking that the internet can be a great source of finding the way of treatment. Furthermore, they use these tips without any consultation of the high-qualified professionals in this area.

The effects of this have been and will continue to be serious for people and for next generations. The greatest of these is that remedies and pills can treat the illness but it also triggers the new disease, leading to more serious and damage consequences for the person’s organism. Another possible effect is that it can initiate disruption of microorganisms in human body and in consequence, may evoke degradation of some organs in a future generation, making them weak and dependent on permanent medicine.

To sum up, it is evident that there are several causes and a variety of negative effects on people. Society must ensure steps are taken to prevent this problem from increasing further.
